MIchael Busch Memorial Scholarships

The National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) awards two $1,000 Michael Busch Memorial Fund scholarships each year, to students in ASE/NATEF certified post secondary schools training to become collision repair technicians.

  • Qualified applicants must either be a graduating high school senior or have graduated from high school.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a full time ASE/NATEF certified post secondary collison repair program.
  • Applicants must completely fill out the GAAS application. All school transcripts including high school and post-secondary (if applicable) must be submitted with the application. 
  • At least one letter of recommendation from a non-family member must be submitted with the application.  
  • A 250-word essay on why the student believes they deserve to be a scholarship recipient must be submitted with the application.

About Michael Busch:

The Michael Busch Memorial Scholarship fund was created in memory of the son of former collision shop owner and ASE board member Jim Busch, who operated a business in Issaquah, Wash., until his retirement. Michael was an automotive technology student who tragically lost his battle with cancer. Each recipient of the Michael Busch scholarship receives $1,000 to be used toward their automotive education.
